MYTH vs PERCEPTION vs REALITY
IPC 67 ended after 3 days of jubiliant deliberation.
Congrats to Dr.B Suresh the VC of JSS University, mysore and President of PCI and his team for all the pains they have taken from start to finish.
I found no big difference in the IPC series 1 to 67. IPC.
As usual it was well guarded to ensure the ground reality was not exposed and no concrete measure was announced to address and redress the ground reality.
At the most IPC is a club of pharma elites where pharmacy and pharmacists have neither place nor voice.
Since the entry tickets are sky high, only sponsored delegates exception are students attend for whom time and money have no value.
At least 67 th IPC was expected to be different to focus more on terminal service pharmacists like Hospital and retail pharmacy ,Clinical and logistics pharmacists, as it was being hosted by Indian HOSPITAL PHARMACISTS Association.
The absence of MCI, DGHS. DH&FWS (Karnataka) who are essential VIPs to develop Logistic and Clicial pharmacy was conspicuous.
It is a big snub to the sponsorer IHPA as no reasonable time was allotted to deliberate on issues of grass root level pharmacists by inviting few leaders from that category..
The IHPA could have organized a separate event with fine focus on Hospital and Retail pharmacy and pharmacists with that kind of big money.
I think pharmacists have to fend themselves.
I WISH I AM WRONG.
